Dolores Olmedo Museum & Day of the Dead Altars

IWC partners with Understand Mexico to bring you a fun walking tour.

Details: We will visit the ex-hacienda La Noria in the south of the city which was once Dolores Olmedo's home and today houses the largest private collection of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo's paintings. On this tour we will focus on her private art collection, but will have a chance to walk through the Day of the Dead Altars (which are still on display). World Food Tour - Mexican Chicken Mole

There’s nothing quite like sitting around with friends having great conversations over a delicious meal! So this year the IWC is bringing you the "World Food Tour" series of social events.

Mole ‘sauce’ is the generic name for a number of sauces originally used in Mexican cuisine, as well as for dishes based on these sauces.  In contemporary Mexico, the term is used for a number of sauces, some quite dissimilar, including black, red/Colorado, yellow, green, almendrado, de olla, huaxmole and pipian.  Generally, a mole sauce contains a fruit, chilli pepper, nut and spices.

Three states in Mexico eat mole:  Puebla, Oaxaca, and Tlaxcala.  The dish has become a culinary symbol of Mexico’s mestizaje, or mixed indigenous and European heritage, both for the types of ingredients it contains, as well as the legends surrounding its origin.

    Event Date: Wednesday, November 15 13th at 10:30 - 2:30pm

Location: Santa Fe. You will be emailed the address upon registration.

Cost: *500 pesos with $50 going to charity.
